Next Generations Ministry Associate

Part-Time (30 hours/week) 

Overview

The Next Gen Ministry Associate partners with the Children’s and Youth Pastors to invest in the lives of our next generations, helping create a welcoming, relational, Jesus-centred, and faith-forming ministry. Through presence, support, and collaboration, this role strengthens our next generation ministries and serves as a valued member of the SBF Staff Team.

Youth Team Responsibilities

·       Contribute under the direction of the Youth Pastor to vision and direction for our youth ministry, cultivating a culture of discipleship, prayer, and mission.

·       Engage, build relationships, and nurture the spiritual formation of the youth.

·       Assist the Youth Pastor in developing a healthy, growing volunteer leadership team.

·       Participate in and help with Sunday youth up to twice a month.

·       Assist in the planning and development to our mid-week youth gatherings.

Kids Team Responsibilities:

·       Contribute under the direction of the Kids Pastor on vision and direction for our kids ministry, contributing to a healthy Kids Ministry culture, by building relationships amongst our kids team, our families, and our kids.

·       Oversee a weekly schedule for SBF Kids volunteers using Planning Center.

·       Communicate effectively with volunteers and ensure proper coverage for ministry needs.

·       Coordinate curriculum materials and supplies for SBF Kids weekly needs.

·       Prepare, and lead classroom lessons up to twice a month.

·       Assist in organizing and coordinating SBF Families gatherings and events.

SBF Staff Requirements

·       Understand, support and comply with SBF’s Vision, Mission, Values, Statement of Faith.

·       Actively participate in staff meetings, retreats, organizational development days, all-team days, membership meetings and special events designated by Lead Pastor as required.

·       Adhere to a philosophy of ministry that is in harmony with that of SBF.

·       A growing personal relationship with Jesus

·       Familiarity with current culture, with discernment to engage biblically and respond pastorally.

·       Easily connects with youth & kids

·       Ability and desire to work cross-generationally and build bridges with parents, older mentors, and the wider church body.

·       Agreement with SBF’s Vision, Mission, Values, and Statement of Faith

·       Alignment with SBF’s philosophy of ministry

·       Preferably 2 or more years of full-time ministry or strong volunteer experience.
