At SBF, our desire is to serve our community however possible. Whether we can be of service to you or you would like to help us in serving others, please feel free to contact our Community Development Pastor Troy Dunham and he would be happy to connect you however he can. Our building and parking lot are also available for use by first contacting Nina, our administrative secretary in our general office.
Opportunities to serve include:
Caring Friends gives practical love and care to families by providing meals in particular times of stress such as bereavement, illness or the birth of a child. Contact: Gillian Latimer.
Elijah’s Barrel – the collection and distribution of food to both Church members and to the local community. This includes helping the Tsawout band and the food bank in Sidney. Contact: Lynn Darrow.
Shared Closet – once in April and once in October lightly used clothing is shared, with remaining clothes donated to the Mustard Seed.
Tsawout reserve – members support the Tsawout reserve including a weekly bread ministry and the Tsawout Home Work Club. Contact: Sybil Bowler and Rosemary Price.
The Mustard Seed has varied opportunities where we can work with with the homeless. Contact: Gail Bones.
Saanich Peninsula Hospital – a monthly chapel service is held for the Extended Care residents. Contact: Dennis Scott.
The Doctor Bones Blues Project plays gospel blues in prisons, bars and festivals in BC. Contact: John Bones.
This summer, partnered with our neighbouring churches to provide children’s ministry to our local community. Contact: Troy Dunham.
